Hi, I’m Kelly Scott.

Mama to baby Leo, wife to chef Tim and postpartum doula to you.

The seed for The Postpartum Chef was planted many years ago when I picked up a copy of Heng Ou’s popular book The First Forty Days. I was many years away from having my own children or even becoming a doula but I was completely inspired. I was enamored by the beautiful images and the recipes using unique and foreign ingredients. A chord was struck within and postpartum cooking became a new passion of mine.

I was a nanny at the time to a wonderful family with 4 beautiful boys and I realized how instrumental my presence was to the family. I enrolled in my postpartum doula training with Childbirth International and started tending to the families I nannied for as a doula.

Fast forward 5 years and our beautiful baby boy, Leo, was born. In the weeks before Leo was born I spent my time intensely preparing for postpartum. A time I completely expected to be a challenging rebirth for both myself and my baby. I gathered recipes, wrote shopping lists, visited farmers markets and Chinese herbal stores. Our house was stocked up and I was ready! I was blessed to have an amazing postpartum experience. My husband cooked delicious and nutritious foods for me while I stayed in bed with our newborn baby.

At The Postpartum Chef, we believe that the journey into motherhood deserves to be celebrated with care, comfort, and nourishment. Our mission is simple: to provide new mothers with freshly prepared, nutrient-rich meals that support postpartum recovery, enhance lactation, and promote overall well-being during this transformative time.

We understand the unique challenges that come with the postpartum period — from sleepless nights to adjusting to your new role as a mother. That’s why we offer a range of expertly crafted, chef-curated meals designed to provide the energy, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to heal and thrive.

A collaboration with my husband, Tim, who is a fine dining and private chef. Together we have fine tuned recipes which use food as medicine to prioritize your nutrition post birth, support lactation and promote healing. Whether you’re recovering from childbirth, navigating the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood, or simply in need of a comforting meal, we’ve got you covered.
